What I {Didn't Get To Witness} Today

Amanda and Phil had their baby!!!

Vivian {don't know the middle name} Laum was born 30 September 2010.

Which is good cause we have way too much stuff going on in October.

Momma survived the 17 hours of labor which is completely crazy!

No stats or pics yet but you can bet your butt I'll be posting a million as soon as I can.

As you may recall I got a front and center view of Mia's birth.  I've also gotten to spend pretty much every day with her since then.  So its a little sad I couldn't be there for Vivi's arrival. BUT I can't wait until December when the hwitty's will make our way to see her for the first time!

So, Happy Birthday Vivi! I'm terribly excited for our first video chat.
xo xo FGM

Now I just need to figure out how to make one of these...

Cause authentic ones are CRAZY expensive.

Also, one of my sisters needs to birth a boy so I can dress them him in these...

The cuteness is off the charts.
I love being an FGM.

What I {Get For Not Paying Attention} Today

Apparently I'm and student now and I have to write a research paper proposal.

I was doing some research while Mia was quietly playing with her toys.

Then I noticed it got a little too quiet...

Well on the plus side it gives me an excuse to finally clean my purse out.

I've been on a little video kick (as I'm sure you've noticed).

Today I share with you some exciting news! Newsies (my ABSOLUTE favorite movie of all time) is rumored to becoming a Broadway musical!!!

You can bet your butt the hwitty sisters will be lined up for the premiere!

So on this rainy Monday afternoon I ask that you sit back, relax, and enjoy some Christian Bale singing and dancing action...

And now you have to watch what these clever people put together...

Alright I'll stop with the videos, you can look for more yourself. Too many to choose from!

Ok I lied one more thing...

This research is going great can't you tell?

What I {Think You Should Watch} Today

Some fun random videos!

A lovely idea, but I don't know if I could do it...

Makes me want to wear red lip stick.
And buy a striped tee.
And be European.

The couple is some crazy modern irish step dancing duo.  Their YouTube page has a lot of other crazy videos from them. Check it out!

Crazy tears watching this one (like every time I watch Up. I can't get through that movie without a giant limp in my throat} I hope someone loves me like that someday...

Danny & Annie from StoryCorps on Vimeo.

Oh yeah, Mia went to my alma mater today.

I was surprised to see how much has changed in the past 2 years

We found the new Dooley statue...

What's the best place near you to get some ice cream?

Yogli Mogli! Actually it's fro yo...does that count?

Ask me anything

Who's the sexiest man alive?

Hopefully my future husband. Now I just need to find him.

Ask me anything

What's your favorite sport?

I consider dance a sport. Many don't, but I do. So that's my answer...dance.

Ask me anything

What was the best advice you've ever received?

Use your words, not your tears

Ask me anything

What I {Watched Mia Play With} Today

Mia's new favorite toy is a set of flashcards.
She couldn't care less about what is printed on the cards.
She loves sorting them.

She carefully selects an individual card and carries it over to its new resting place.

If you watch her in action you see that she if very meticulous about where they go.

Nothing is random.

The storage ottoman has now been taken over by Mia's toys.
It used to store the DVDs. But now they are sequestered here...

I think this means M & J have become "those people" that let kid stuff take over their house.
I'm not sayin, I'm just sayin...

Another step is handing each card to me, taking it back, and then placing it in its assigned area.

It's a lengthy process.

Once all the cards are sorted she may decide to sort some of her dolls.

First she lines them up on the couch.

Yes, she placed the remote there on purpose.

No, I have no idea why it counts as a doll.

Then she will individually toss them to the ground.

When sorting gets old, she may do some reading on her iPad.

When the technology begins to feel inadequate, she'll kick it old school with a magazine.

Then she sees her highchair and realizes she's suddenly starving.

If only there were audio to go with this.  Just imagine a nagging whine/moan.
So she eats her snack (oatmeal muffin and grapes)

And shows off her straw sippin' skillz (with a z)

And when she does this...

It means it's nap time! Yayyy!
I mean, awww I can't wait till she wakes up again...

What I {Might Fully Accomplish} Today

Oh my, it's Monday already.

For the weekend I had a little list of things to do.

1. Bake Cupcakes {check!}

2. Survive the Yom Kippur fast {check!}

3. Finish making Danielle's wedding gear {check!}

Danielle and I grew up together.
We were in Girl Scouts together.
We went to prom together (with dates).

We go way back.

And this Saturday she is getting married.

Blows my mind.

She's a good Catholic girl getting married to a nice Jewish boy.

So as my wedding gift to her I offered to make headbands for all of her lovely bridesmaids.

Her colors are navy, white, and a burnt orange.  Turns out the perfect shade of orange is rather hard to find. But after several laps pacing around Joann's we finally settled on some beautiful fabrics.

I think they will all look lovely!

And then she asked me if I could make her some garters.

I've never made one before so I replied, "Of course!"

After several Google searches I decided to dive in and try to make them.

One to toss...

And one to keep!

There's gonna be a lot going on under that dress, but I really like the way they came out.

4. Do some LONG overdue laundry

Yeah, no check on that one.  Ugh, I guess I'll stop stalling and go throw in a load.

Post Script: More exciting stuff this weekend...Amanda's baby is due!

She is going to kill me for posting this picture.  But since she's in Germany it will take a while before she can get me.
Man time flies!

So Vivi, will you arrive on time?
FGM can't wait to meet you!

What I {NEEEEEEED} Today

Seeing this coat made my tummy dizzy.

Pollyanna Coat
The Pollyanna Coat from Spotted Moth

I NEEEED this coat!

Is it too much?

Could I pull off the color?

The collar is removable so that makes it practical.

I can justify this need right?

Speaking of needs...

I think each of you need to taste one of these.

You should totally come over and have one!

Call me.

What I {Changed} Today

What I {Blank} Today has a fresh new look!

I was surprised to find there were so many free templates that were actually quality.

So what do you think?I still have to mess around with a few things, but I think I like it.

I got rid of the fish.
I'm kind of missing them now...
Did you ever feed them?

I added a question thing on the left over there. You can now ask me anything you've been dying to know.  Not that you couldn't before, but this has the option for anonymity.  So take advantage!

Hmm what else have I changed?
So far today... just a few stinky diapers...yayyy

I'll keep you updated.

What I {Had A Flashback Of} Today

Today at work a piece I had been working on finally got fired and was out of the kiln.

Check it out...

Loves it!

Looking at the picture gave me a flashback of the Zebra/Tiger debate of 09.

If you don't recall here's the best part...

Scene: 6:00am, the morning after Halloween in the room at the Super 8 Motel.

Me: So, I don't think that costume was supposed to be a zebra...

Jason: Who wakes up and says that?

Michelle: Why don't you think it was a zebra?

Me: I just think about these things.  And I was just laying here thinking...it didn't have a mane.  If it were a zebra, wouldn't it have a  mane?

Jason: If it wasn't a zebra then what was it?

Me: A Siberian tiger.

Jason: It was not a tiger! It was white!

Me: Then it was a white Siberian tiger.

Michelle: Yeah like that creepy couple! The guys in Vegas that had the white tigers.  Man, what were their names?

Me: I know who you're talking about, but I can't think of the names.

Michelle: One of them was mauled by the tiger.  Look it up on Google! Google "Vegas act mauled by tiger"

Me: Sigmund and Freud! That's it!

Michelle: Oh yeah I think that's it! Wait no, I don't think that's right...

Me: Oh wait, yeah I just googled it...it was Siegfried and Roy.

End scene.

We should be on TV.

In kinda sorta related news...I'm so ready for fall!

And I'm really craving some new outerwear.

Is it time yet? Is it time yet?
