What I {Had A Flashback Of} Today

Today at work a piece I had been working on finally got fired and was out of the kiln.

Looking at the picture gave me a flashback of the Zebra/Tiger debate of 09.

If you don't recall here's the best part...

Scene: 6:00am, the morning after Halloween in the room at the Super 8 Motel. 

Me: So, I don't think that costume was supposed to be a zebra...

Jason: Who wakes up and says that?

Michelle: Why don't you think it was a zebra?

Me: I just think about these things.  And I was just laying here thinking...it didn't have a mane.  If it were a zebra, wouldn't it have a  mane?

Jason: If it wasn't a zebra then what was it?

Me: A Siberian tiger.

Jason: It was not a tiger! It was white!

Me: Then it was a white Siberian tiger.

Michelle: Yeah like that creepy couple! The guys in Vegas that had the white tigers.  Man, what were their names?

Me: I know who you're talking about, but I can't think of the names.

Michelle: One of them was mauled by the tiger.  Look it up on Google! Google "Vegas act mauled by tiger"

(pause)

Me: Sigmund and Freud! That's it!

Michelle: Oh yeah I think that's it! Wait no, I don't think that's right...

(pause) 

Me: Oh wait, yeah I just googled it...it was Siegfried and Roy.

End scene. 

We should be on TV.

In kinda sorta related news...I'm so ready for fall! 

And I'm really craving some new outerwear.

1.     My brand spanking new MacBook Pro

Does the blog seem mac-ier? It is.

They were running a promo for college students (oh yeah, I'm a college student again) for a FREE iPod Touche.  I went ahead and got it but haven't opened it.  I'm afraid the device might be a bit redundant considering the fact that I have my G1 with Android.  But it's so new and shiny and calling my name. 

open me! pleeease Rachel? you know you want to!

Do any of YOU have an iPod Touche?  Thoughts?

What I {Announce} Today

The hiatus is over!

Don't ask me where I was.

So let me catch you up...

The school year ended so I lost my "job" for the summer, but I still had to hang out with my boss everyday. Then it got really hot. 

So we went to the pool.

Not even her most ridiculously cute pool outfit.

I also got a year older.

DQ Ice Cream Cakes are THE best ice cream cake available.  Chocolate, fudgey, crunchy things? Yes please.

Side note: Michelle and I went to DQ to get a treat.  On the way over I came up with a brilliant idea, DQ should sell individual slices of their cakes!  When we arrived we soon discovered that some genious at DQ headquarters had already come up with this idea.  Unfortunately, the pieces were rather sad looking so I opted for a Reese's Blizzard instead.

Oh my rents...That's where we get the witty.

Everyone had me all pumped for my bday gift cause all the hwitty's chipped in to get it.  So I knew it had to be big.

It was...

A sewing machine!

I was a little scared of it.  It took me about a week before I got it out of the box.  And then about a month before I was brave enough to try using it.

AND NOW I AM ADDICTED

There are so many great and FREE tutorials out in the world wide web.  It really makes you look at the clothes you buy and think about how it was made.  I have a much greater appreciation for the things in my closet.

Hello Bad Boy

No really, the name of the bike is Bad Boy.  It's soooo fast and fun!  I was on a comfort bike before so this is a bit of an upgrade.  And by bit I mean HUGE.

I have no pics of me on the bike cause frankly, no one needs to see that.

So that was basically the highlights of May and June.  I'll post some pics of the things I've made and catch you up on July tomorrow. 

Sigh, it's good to be back.
